507 Insufficient Storage

What is HTTP 507?

This WebDAV status code indicates that the server is unable to store the representation needed to successfully complete the request. The server has run out of available storage space and cannot write the data. This condition is considered temporary, as freeing up space or expanding storage should resolve it. It applies specifically to the storage needed for the current request, not general server storage issues.

Common Causes

• The server's disk is full and there is no space to write new files or data
• A user's storage quota on the WebDAV server has been exceeded
• The file system partition used for data storage has reached capacity
• Temporary files or logs have consumed all available disk space

How to Fix

• Free up disk space on the server by removing unnecessary files, logs, or temporary data
• Increase the storage quota for the affected user or the server's overall storage capacity
• Check for runaway log files or temporary files consuming unexpected amounts of space
• Set up monitoring and alerts for disk usage to prevent future occurrences
