What is HTTP 207?

This WebDAV status code provides status for multiple independent operations within a single response. The response body is an XML document containing individual status codes for each sub-operation. It is used when a single request affects multiple resources, and each resource may have a different outcome. This allows batch operations to report partial success, where some items succeed while others fail.

Defined in RFC 4918

Common Causes

• A WebDAV PROPFIND request returning properties for multiple files or folders
• A batch API operation where each item in the batch has its own result
• A PROPPATCH request setting multiple properties with mixed success

How to Fix

• Parse the XML response body to check the individual status of each resource
• Handle partial failures by retrying only the sub-operations that did not succeed
• If you see unexpected errors in sub-responses, investigate each failed resource individually
